About Clare

Some years ago I discovered Pilates and quickly became hooked. After years of trying to manage an arthritic condition through other forms of exercise, Pilates proved to be the perfect antidote, providing relief from spinal and joint pain whilst also strengthening, toning and increasing my flexibility.

Feeling the need to share the benefits, I trained as a mat teacher with Polestar Pilates UK, and as a Garuda Method mat and reformer teacher. My movement journey has constantly evolved in response to changing physical and mental health needs. Most recently I have trained as a yoga teacher and teach dynamic Power Yoga as well as slower flow classes and guided breathing sessions. 

Through these three approaches, I try to cultivate functional movement, breath, and a deep awareness of the present.

I divide my working life between movement and global health. Both use evidence-based knowledge to empower individuals and communities to take control of their health and wellbeing. 

I live in Maisons Laffitte, France and London, UK. I teach privates, duos, small and larger groups, and I am available for corporate and health & wellbeing events.

Pilates

Power Yoga is a vinyasa style of Yoga that originates from Ashtanga. Each pose flows into the next using breath to link the movements. The use and control of the breath in yoga improves energy flow through the body, helps with the physical practice of postures, and enables a stilling of the mind. This practice teaches us resilience, acceptance and compassion.

Yoga

Garuda is an organic movement method which combines the core strength and focus of Pilates with influences such as yoga, tai chi and dance. The routines are designed to develop greater strength, poise and control, and a leaner, more resilient body. Integrating Garuda in my classes helps create a sense of accomplishment, serenity and wellbeing.
